BD Performance Transmission Stage 4 Kit – 96-97 Dodge 47RE 4wd
The stock drivetrain was designed to handle the output of the stock engine, but not much more. BD Performance transmissions use revised oil circuits, extra clutches and stronger parts to handle up to 300% more power and torque than the stock transmission. All BD Performance transmissions come with a heavy duty transmission pan. Most Dodge and Ford transmission kits come bundled with their auxiliary Full Flow Transmission Filter kit for added protection and cooling! Not warranted for Race or Sled Pull use.
OEM transmission helical gears and engine torque thrust causes stock plastic and Babbitt thrust washers to fail. The contaminated oil and damages solenoids and valves. BD removes the thrust washers and installs roller bearings throughout the transmission which reduces oil contamination, maintains tolerances, reduces heat, and prevents premature solenoid failure.
