Counterfeit Injectors

Bosch Fake injectors, counterfeit injectors, rebuilt injector fraud

We are seeing more and more counterfeit injectors as well as other parts that are sold in the marketplace. To be certain you are getting quality parts, buy from an authorized repair or resale facility, such as Oregon Fuel Injection. There are obvious warning signs to look for, before you buy rebuilt common rail injectors, particularly Bosch rebuilt injectors. Spelling mistakes, boxes that are not OEM or prices that are too good to be true. Some Bosch repair shops are factory authorized to rebuild common rail injectors. They won’t have OEM boxes, but the facility would be listed as Bosch Authorized.

For a few years, we have heard that some people were told “Don’t buy Bosch Rebuilt Injectors, they are no good”. Recently, we had some injectors come in for testing, which were a good example of counterfeit parts. They bought the injectors because they were told they were Bosch Rebuilt injectors however, the price was too good to be true. After installation, the engine was not running correctly, so they brought the injectors to us for testing.

The 3 injectors have the same serial number and same IQA or trim code. That was the first clue that they were not genuine. We never saw the boxes they were shipped in, but the following pictures are examples of Bosch OE boxes, sticker and labels on genuine Bosch products.

Choose wisely, don’t buy twice or damage an engine from bad injectors. If they are too cheap, you should question whether they are OE or an authorized rebuilt product.
