S&B Filters diesel performance intake kits are all about improving airflow to your truck’s engine. The S&B 75-5068 flows 29.9% better through the side inlet, 42.1% through front (ram-air) inlet and 51.7% with both inlets open on the intake better then the factory air box while removing 99.49% of the airborne dirt. Better airflow translates into a noticeable increase in power, acceleration, and economy.

The S&B air box uses the same motor that drives the Ram Active Air^TM to activate its swing gate, giving you all the benefits of the stock system, plus much more. The intake draws air from the wheel well inlet under normal driving conditions or inclement weather conditions to protect against the elements. In extreme heat, high loads, or high altitudes the swing gate pivots.  When your truck accelerates to full throttle it opens the ram-air duct mounted behind the front grille and exposes cooler and less restrictive air to your engine.

The one piece air box design features an integrated box seal that keeps out unwanted engine heat. The cooler the air, the greater the density, resulting in better performance. Premium silicone seals won’t tear or crack and can handle temperatures as high as 400℉.

Do you want an oiled cleanable filter?  This question really comes down to the driving environment. The dry filters are better suited for dry/dusty areas. The oiled filters flow slightly better, but the oil can skew the mass air flow sensor.  We recommend dry filters for any vehicle equipped with a MAF sensor. Since you are not sacrificing performance with either choice, the decision comes down to where you drive and how you want to service the filter.
