Product Description
Exhaust Brake, BD Variable Vane Controller 06-07 LBZ 6.6 Duramax
The variable vane turbo is used in the 2004.5 and up 6.6L Duramax engines to reduce turbo lag and increase power. It can also help slow you down. BD uses this technology to close off the vanes which can create up to 130 retarding horsepower. This braking force will help to maintain your speeds on slopes, giving you better control of your truck and load.
The Variable Vane Brake (VVB) works in Tow/Haul mode and every time you let off the throttle, it will close the vanes in the turbo, developing exhaust back pressure in the engine which creates the retarding effect.
The VVB control switch offers different modes, including automatic and aggressive downshifting programs. Braking also works in Allison manual shift selections. The VVB works with the cruise control to maintain vehicle speed.
Easily and simply installs by plugging into existing factory connections and by mounting the rotary switch on the dash.
Note: We cannot guarantee compatibility with all aftermarket products that have a permanent connection to the OBDII plug inside of the cab.
– Older Edge Attitude displays have a known compatibility issue. The newer Edge CTS and CS are not compatible at this time.
– H&S Mini Max are not compatible at this time.
